This is a private owner wagon, built to Diagram 6/492 by the Standard Wagon Company for associated Portland Cement Manufacturers, in 1964. It was designed to carry bagged cement. It was first numbered BV 53, BV 6253 and then APCM 6253. It can carry 22 tons and is known as a ‘Palvan’ for telegraphic purposes. It is owned by the S&DRH Trust  and is currently used for stores.

Opening Times

Sundays 10.00 to 16.00 for viewing, museum, wartime pillbox, buffet coach, gift shop and second-hand bookshop. 
 
Mondays, but for viewing only, rather than full facilities, shop and museum open from 13.00 to 16.00. Buffet coach open from 10:00 until 15:00.
