On Sunday 27th September, at our Autumn Gala, it gave us great pleasure to officially open the new S& D Emporium. The opening ceremony was performed by Trust Chairman Roger Burfitt.
This was the culmination of many months hard work by a number of volunteers. The BG ( braked gangway) coach arrived at Midsomer Norton nearly a year ago.
Whilst it was originally hoped to have the Emporium open for the start of the 2026 season, there was more work required than originally thought. Thanks must go to all the volunteers involved in renovating the coach, and making it a fitting home for the Emporium.
If you haven’t visited the Emporium yet, then do make the effort, as there is a wide selection of railway books on offer. They also have a huge selection of model railway items - numerous locos, carriages and wagons, plus track and buildings. You’re bound to find something of interest.
