Multi Access User Vehicle Project.
The Trust currently provides facilities to enable persons with reduced mobility to travel on our trains. However, access is via a ramp that is manually handled into place and the facilities within the coach are not ideal with limited seats for those accompanying the wheelchair users and poorly spaced smaller windows.
The Trust plans to refurbish and convert a British Railways Mark 1 'SK' No 25572 Coach to have an open access area and dual lifting mechanisms (one per side) to allow wheelchairs and mobility scooters easy access to the carriage safely and easily.
The Trust is currently working with a professional fundraiser to identify grants that can be applied for in order to fund this work and have the refurbishment and conversion work completed for the Trust. As part of the planning stage of the work, we wish to seek feedback from members of the public, please take a few minutes to complete the short survey for members, visitors and supporters to complete.
Thank You.
