Austin Day - Longbridge vehicles join guest steam locomotive for brilliant occasion.

On Sunday, 15th August, the railway hosted our 'Austin Day'.  Our guest engine, Austin 1, which did service at the Longbridge Works, was the star of the show, hauling the train to the delight of all present.  Also on display was a total of 27 Austin vehicles manufactured at the works - they occupied both our car parks and we were delighted to welcome them and their owners.  There was a fantastic turnout of people to see both the engine and cars and to witness the railway at work.  Copious quantities of cream teas were consumed and a brilliant day was had by all.   Austin 1 will remain at Midsomer Norton until early next year and will pull the Santa Specials in December.  Keep an eye on this website as tickets will be on sale soon.
