Brake Van Rides at Midsomer Norton with D1120

Sunday May 5th 2024 - on a day of sunshine and showers we ran a series of return brake van rides from Midsomer Norton South station up to the current railhead towards Chilcomption. The rides are great fun and good value; they proved very popular with some sessions fully booked. The trip provided a somewhat different "fresh air" view of the railway with passengers occupying the veranda space at either end of our Queen Mary Brake Van. Motive power for the day was in the form of diesel hydraulic shunter D1120 which the railway has recently converted to operate with vacuum braking. The next scheduled brake van rides are on Sunday 15th September so why not come along and have a ride!
