Busy Spring Gala

Monday 26th May was a typical Bank Holiday weather wise - some showers with some warm sunshine mixed in.  However it didn't damped the spirit at Midsomer Norton South station where the Spring Gala was taking place.

After a quiet start, it turned into a busy day.  Trains were running every half hour, with the DMU running the first service at 10.00am.  The Mark 1 coaches top and tailed by the diesel shunters D4095 & D1120, then alternated with the DMU.  The final train was the DMU departing at 4pm.  The lunchbreak saw the Wickham Trolley in action with a limited number of runs.

Elsewhere around the station, the museum, WW2 pillbox and Anderson Shelter were open.  The shop and Emporiun were busy, with railway modellers browsing the wide range.  The RMB buffet was kept busy throughout the day serving refreshments.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and there were plenty of positive comments.

Thank you to all those who supported the event, and a big Thank You to all the volunteers who worked hard to make the day the success that it was.
