D1120

On its travels!. D1120 has gone away for modifications

On Monday, a number of our volunteers assisted with the loading of our 0-6-0 shunting locomotive D1120 which is leaving the railway temporarily for a number of months whilst it has vacuum brakes fitted and a number of small repairs carried out to the locomotive.

The work which is costing several thousand pounds has been sponsored by one of our members who has made the fantastic gesture of funding the work. When the locomotive does return to the railway - which is likely to be early next year - the locomotive will then be able to operate passenger trains and be a useful addition to our small locomotive fleet.

You can see a small video clip of the locomotive leaving Midsomer Norton here.  https://www.instagram.com/p/CDvabA0nr7_/
