Summer is Here & there is plenty happening
Its July, and the start of the summer. With a variety of events lined up, there is something for everyone.
This weekend - Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th July - sees the return of the Wickham Trolley. Enjoy a two mile round trip on this restored engineers trolley once used to transport workers along the line. Now restored, it can carry six passengers, and provides a unique way to enjoy the railway. Unfortunately the vehicle can't accomodate wheelchairs. If you miss this oppotunity to enjoy a ride on the trolley, it will return on Wednesday 23rd July, and then every Wednesday until the end of September. Services start at 10.30 on each day and booking is advisded due to limited spaces.
Sunday 27th July is the start of the summer train services with trains running every Sunday, plus Bank Holiday Monday 25th August. Services will be run by either the DMU or the Mark 1 coaches hauled by a diesel shunter.
In addition to the normal train services, there will also be a family fun day on Sunday 17th August. This is our Midsomer Summer event, a re-imagined day trip to the sseaside. There will be a recreated "beach", various funfair type side show games, a childrens entertainer, plus a band. Come and enjoy a day at the "seaside" Midsomer Norton style. Tickets for this event will include a day rover train ticket.
We hope to see you at the station soon!
