RMB Appeal - Halfway Stage Passed

The Trust is very pleased to report that thanks to the very generous donations made by a number of our supporters, that our appeal to raise £10,000 in order to fully refurbish the interior of our Restaurant Minature Buffet has now passed the halfway mark with a incredible £5294 raised to date.

This is fantastic news and the Trust is hopeful that with a further influx of donations to reach the £7,000 mark  by the 19th July that we can then place the order with a specialist upholstery company and secure a place in their busy order book to have the seats completed by mid August. All 48 seats in the RMB will be removed and transported away to a specialist upholstery company to have a new moquette applied.

A further £3,000 is then required to complete the interior works, if this can be raised whilst the seats are away for reuphostering, then the vehicle can also have new linoleum installed, this will be a significantly easier job to complete if it can be done whilst the seats are out of the coach. At the same time the Trust will take the opportunity to paint the ceiling and carry out a number of other minor repairs in order that when the railway finally does reopen to the public that they have a fabulous new interior in which to sit and take refreshments.

It will be fantastic if we can have all this work completed by the end of August, with your continued support and donations we can make this happen.
