Down line track work completed in time for April passenger services

The replacement of the Down line tracks in the platform area at Midsomer Norton was completed on March 20th in time for the first trains of the season on April 2nd. This work started in early January and involved removing the old track and sleepers and reassembling them into shorter (30') panels for removal to a site in Wales where they'll be put to good use. The expanded Pway gang experienced a couple of very wet Sundays and a number of challenges with machinery which meant a bit of pressure to get the 4 new panels of sleepers and rails laid in time but we got there! Well done to all involved in this project.
