Signalling Update May 2023

At long last the project to provide signalling for Up line running has been completed.  Two signals have been commissioned, the Up Outer Home signal (pictured) and the Up Home signal.  To achieve this milestone the signalling team had to adapt the mechanical and electrical safety interlocking, test the new system and get it passed by an Independent Competent Person (ICP).  Whilst this was achieved in 2022, we then had to wait until the Permanent Way team had the opportunity to improve the track to make it suitable for passenger running.  This was completed in April 2023 and trials for passenger running commenced.  If you are interested, come and visit the signal box on a running day and see it all in action.
