0-4-0ST No 1788 Kilmersdon arrives safely at Midsomer Norton on Oct 16th

Steam locomotive Kilmersdon arrived safely at Midsomer Norton on Monday Oct 16th having travelled by low loader from Hampshire. Following a familiarisation session involving on site footplate crew on Sunday 22nd October, Kilmersdon will haul our Halloween,  Santa at the Station and New Year trains. We are very grateful to both the Watercress Line where the loco is normally based and to the Somerset & Dorset Railway Trust who are the owners for allowing this historic engine to operate at Midsomer Norton.

One of the gallery pictures shows Kilmersdon in recent action hauling a 2 coach train on the steeply graded Watercress line during their recent Autumn Gala. The train consist at Midsomer Norton will be similar as are the gradients away from the station!
